Born on 14 May 1876, in Joinville, SC, son of Johann August Ziemann and Auguste Wilhelmine Friederike Nass. He married Anna Degelmann on 28 May 1904 at the Catholic church house of Father Carlos Boegershausen, in Joinville. They had children, among them Elsa Ziemann (1913).
