Born on 29 December 1822 and baptised by the chaplain Father Wenceslau Klee on the same day, in Maxdorf no. 1, Gablonz, Bohemia, Austrian Empire, son of Bernard Rößler, a shoemaker, and Anna Theresia Tischer. He was a smallholder farmer (Feldgärtner). He married Magdalena Glückselig on 19 February 1849 in Johannesberg, Gablonz, Bohemia. He died in Johannesberg, Bohemia, Austria.
