Born on 7 January 1928, in Santana, Madeira, Portugal. Daughter of Manuel Luiz Cardoso and Carolina Augusta Cardoso. She married Antonio Gomes Garanito on 28 July 1948 in Santana, Madeira, Portugal, he aged 24 and she 20. In 1949 she emigrated to Rio de Janeiro. In 1951 to São Paulo, and shortly afterwards to Colorado, PR. They had six children: Manuel, Agostinho, Maria, Pedro, Lucia and Elizabeth de Fátima Garanito. They settled in Paranaguá, PR. She was a merchant and owner of the Hotel Santana. She died on 28 September 2012, aged 84, in Curitiba, Paraná.
