Born on 25 March 1828, in Arnswalde bei Frankfurt, Brandenburg, Prussia, son of Christian Friedrich Meyer and Christina Welk. A carter in Curitiba. Lutheran. He emigrated to Brazil aboard the Wiedemann, departing from the port of Hamburg on 20.04.1858 and arriving at the port of São Francisco do Sul on 27.06.1858. He died of illness in the Serra da Graciosa on 20 August 1878, aged 49.
